The figure is seated in vajrasana on a double lotus base, wearing a monastic robe adorned with floral scrolls. The hands in dharmachakra mudra and holding two long floral stems blossoming on the shoulders and bearing his attributes, the sword and the book. He also wears the traditional hat of the Gelug school. The face is delicately carved, with benevolent expression. The base unsealed. The lama Tsongkhapa (1357-1419) was a Buddhist scholar and master, founder of the Gelug school.
