A Large Carved Longquan celadon “Phoenix-Tail «Vase, heavily potted made in Zhejiang Province in the beginning of the 15th century;
It bears a very refine incised decoration under the glaze of lotus scrolls above stylized leaves ; the neck is carved with leaves under several cylindrical bands , ending in a large everted neck.
The thick olive -green tone is even and soft; the base is bare, with some glaze splashes, revealing the orange tone of the paste, due to the iron contained in it, very typical of this period.
