A white jade tiger head khanjar handle

Description

The end of the handle in a tiger head shape, the eyes with hardstone inlays. The sides and back of the handle inlaid with rubis and gold wire in the kundan technique, forming symetric stylized flower scrolls. Precious Mughal weapons richly adorned, such as this one, were send by the Mughal rulers to Chinese emperors as diplomatic gifts. These precious items were really sough-after and carefully kept in the imperial collections.
