Cylindrical porcelain Famille verte and cover, decorated with rocks and birds among cherry blossoms and peony branches; a French silver mount secures the canister and cover; its central band worked with various charming designs, such as flowers, rabbits against a punched and stippled ground; this echoes the background decoration on the borders of the Chinese porcelains.
The silver is marked with the poinçon Colombe du Saint Esprit “ Dove of the Holy Spirit” on both container and cover, dating the mounts to between 1722 and 1726.
