Meiping-style baluster vase in gilt bronze and cloisonné enamels, decorated with lotus scrolls.
The body of the vase is adorned with a floral decoration composed of lotus flowers. These flowers are rendered in polychrome enamels of red, yellow, green, blue, white and aubergine. They are connected by a network of green stems and leaves, standing out against a turquoise background. The cylindrical neck of the vase is decorated with a collar of small cloisonné flowers, while the lower part is highlighted by a frieze of rectangular lotus panels decorated with floral motifs.
The Uldry collection includes two Meiping vases very similar to ours, dated circa 1600; it is mentioned that the Uldry collection consists of only ten inventoried and dated pieces from this period.
In addition, a Meiping vase similar to ours was presented at the Mystery of the Jingtai Cloisonné Unveiled exhibition at the National Palace Museum in Taipei. Cat No. 1-30-1
