Description

The circular box, decorated with floral scrolls in red, blue, yellow, green and white cloisonné enamels. The lid decorated with a stylized lotus pattern and floral scrolls. The base and the inside nicely gilted. The cloisonné technique emerged in China as the results of foreign influences, from Europe throught Byzantium. The technique has experienced a signicative evolution during the 14th century and become a technique mastered by the Chinese crafsmen.
